Why I Started Seize the Shay

Home, to me, has never been a place. I’ve felt most at home when I’m challenging myself to explore new cities, new hobbies, new restaurants, etc. Since graduating from college, I’ve moved to New Orleans, St. Louis, and now Indianapolis. Something about packing up everything you own in a U-Haul and moving to a new city alone has never scared me, it fuels me.

My professional life has supported this dream of traveling to new cities. I’ve had the pleasure of working in casinos, tech startups, baseball teams, and now a marketing agency. Each has taught me different aspects of marketing to allow me to know that digital marketing is where I belong.

Now, at thirty-one, I am ready for my next adventure: pushing myself to create this website and betting on myself. Throughout 2023, I’ve traded in my little car for a truck with towing abilities, and I’ll be purchasing a small travel trailer, selling all my belongings, and traveling the United States in the camper with my pup. I created Seize the Shay to document all the thoughts, doubts, questions, research, and most importantly, JOY from this decision. Thank you for being here and following along!
