How I made $324 in cash back this year (so far)
If you know me, you know I love a good deal. I mean, I don’t buy ANYTHING at full price. And I’ve been religiously using the same three apps for a few years to get cash back for everything I’d normally buy. These three apps take almost no effort to use, so you will actually keep up with them. This blog is an update to my blog from 2023 (How I made $451 in cash back this year (so far)).
Rakuten
I’ve been using Rakuten since 2017 and have earned nearly $950 in total. While I didn’t break my record of $282.23 from 2023, I earned $206.62 in cash back this year. That is 100% FREE MONEY for buying things I would buy online anyway. This used to be eBates and is a completely reputable company. Every store/brand sets the amount of cashback they want to offer for purchasing through Rakuten. It varies from 2% up to 20% sometimes. Download the app on your phone or add it as an extension to Google Chrome, alerting you when there’s cashback on a site you’re browsing. You’re buying directly from the site you usually would, but going through Rakuten first adds a little “tag” of some sort and rewards you for going through them first.
Brands I purchased through Rakuten this year include Glossier, Chewy, Old Navy, Walmart, and PetSmart.
One of the ways I get large amounts of cashback is to book all my travel and concert tickets through Rakuten.
Sign up for Rakuten here using my code (thank you so much for your support), and you’ll get an extra $30 back after your first purchase!
Fetch
Stop trying to make fetch happen — probably my friends to me because I ask them every time they get a receipt if they’ve uploaded it to Fetch. I got Fetch in 2022, and it’s an app where you literally take a photo of your receipt — ANY receipt — within their app, and at a minimum, you’ll get 25 points. Some big-name brands, can give you thousands of points per purchase (Kodiak, General Mills, Clorox, you get the point. It’s legit brands). I’ve even noticed restaurants are now on the app for your food purchases!
You can cash the points in for rewards once you reach enough points (5,000). So far this year, I’ve cashed in $35 in Amazon gift cards. I’ve got ~3k points in the back now, adding up!
The best part is you don’t need to do any prep. You can go into the app and see what items or brands offer many points, but you don’t HAVE to do anything. You open the app, snap your receipt, and BOOM! Free money!
You can join Fetch using this link (and if you want to use my code VVXKCY, you’ll get extra points on your first snap!)
Upside
If you purchase gas, you should absolutely be using Upside. It also works for some restaurants and convenience stores. Before I get gas each time, I open the Upside app, look at all the gas stations around me, and compare which offers the most cash back. I usually get 15-20 cents cash back per gallon. This year, I’ve earned $82.42 just from getting gas or grabbing food from local spots.
Cash back to me is a no-brainer. These are safe, easy, free, and reliable ways to get a little extra money back for buying all your favorite things.
I appreciate you considering using my codes as they help to support me.
Happy Shopping!!
